When you look at the left part of the painting first and then look to the right, is the left past to the right or are they both happening simultaneously?
The painting is indifferent to where you choose to look first and so is The Now; it's indifferent to your past or future takes of it.
The Now is like a view happening all at once. The future and the past are defined by where you (as a viewer) choose to look first and the association you make between what you see first and what you see next.
If you look at a box from afar, you see a box happening all at once.
If you zoom into the box, you start seeing the details one after another (i.e. the redness of the box followed by the squareness of the box etc..) Nothing connects the redness to the squareness if you can't see the box itself. Hence, the flow of meaning is disrupted. Consequently, the mind is forced to resort to an alternative logic to secure a meaningful connection.
If you see the redness before the squareness, then your mind registers the redness as past to the squareness. The mind arranges the two by their order of happening and devises a causal linkage between the former and the latter, almost as if the redness is what is causing the squareness.
This is but a glimpse of the absurd logic that rules our daily perception of reality and how we arrive at our opinions, views and convictions of life and the world around us.
Now, what if I tell you that The Now resembles a circle, a whole, a unity that cannot be divided in the first place in order that it be connected.
Think of how much freedom this premise entails.
According to this premise, there exist unlimited possibilities to how you can view Reality at any given moment.
Accordingly, you are free to detach The Now in every moment from any past or future impression of it. You are free to negate any causal logic that entangles The Now with anything that happened or is about to happen.
You are welcome to do all this without running into any logical absurdity.
In short, you are being offered a chance to reboot from any previous or upcoming view of reality in every flux of a conscious second. Yes, you have the freedom to redefine who you are in every moment without owing anything to any past or future image of yourself.
Are you cashing in on even 1% of such freedom?!
It all depends on how sharp and clear your vision is - how much meaning you're able to behold in one take of The NOW, how much you're able to be engaged in what's happening while detached from it, be inside the script as an actor and outside of it as a witness simultaneously, be able to hop the meaning while it rises, and drop just before it falls and before time-logic sneaks into the picture and color it differently .
A simple idea may take many lives to shine bright, and it may dawn upon you faster than the speed of light.
A single moment of awakening may make your whole life before and after feel like nothing but a tedious explanation of that moment.
The Past and The Future were originally the Devil's bait for the soul. When the soul fell from Eden, it fell from a state of Indivisible Unity (an eternal Now) into numerically divisible dream-like instances of it. Those instances are known as events (in reference to eve).
Again, it is like falling from the state of viewing a whole scene in one take, to the state of seeing its countless details, one after the other.
This is the core metaphysics of The Original Error that is symbolized in the Genesis account by Adam's fall from Eden.
When you sleep at a given thought and wake up to the same thought, do you feel any time passage?
Time passage is construed by a discontinuity between two instances of the same now. Time-awareness enters the scene only to fill in for the missing connection between the two instances. It does this to save your mind from dying along with the death of the meaning.
When the flow of meaning is lacking, you simply fail to connect two instances of the same now by any logic. Your mind establishes an alternative connection by registering those two separate instances as numbers falling within a numeric framework, and then it tries to associate what happens first with what happens next by establishing a causal connection between the two based on a pseudo numeric logic which entails that The First always causes or brings forth The Second.
In other words, time-awareness enters the scene out of a need to simulate a flow in meaning when naturally its lacking. Again, it does this through employing a pseudo-continuity built on the mere logic that one instance numerically falls next to the other within a time-measured continuum.
It then sings its own survival tune by claiming that The Former instance somehow caused The Latter for the mere fact that it happened before the latter. This is like saying redness caused squareness in a box for the mere fact that redness appeared in sight before squareness.
Once upon a time, time passage was described by a vibrant image full of meaning, like the image of sand moving smoothly through an hour-glass. In this image, time emulates a continuum, a flow.
Later on, time grew to resonate less and less the logic of a flow and instead an abrupt motion constituted by separate digital frames conjoined by nothing more than the hollow logic of counting 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 etc..
The Soul Eve was happy encircled by The Indivisible Now, alive inside the Eden of her eternal selfhood.
The Ancient Devil (Adam's Spiritual opponent) offered her a mirror. You can call this mirror The Mirror of the Ego. He then asked her to look outside herself (towards the mirror) to ponder the beauty of herself in the eyes of an imaginary Other.
In finality, there is no Otherness in existence. There is only ONE self disguised by many selves.
Thus, Eve's temptation has been built around a logical absurdity - a dream-like possibility of a world where there exists a plurality of selves - an audience of selves looking back at her.
She looked at the mirror and saw the reflection of the past behind her disguised as a Future before her. Her mind was split into two, The Viewer and The Viewed; her now was split into two, The Now Before and The Now After.
In trying to escape The Past which signaled the death of meaning, her vision migrated into The Future, seeking refuge inside the eyes of the non-existent Other looking back at her through the mirror.
The so-called Future promised her to become more than who she already is, yet in truth it was indirectly convincing her that she is now a lesser version of herself - a Fallen self; and that is how she fell from her story into History (His-story or The Devil's Story).
The future played the happy tune of her desires as she pondered over the endless possibilities that it promises, and the past played the sad tune of her regrets as she drowned in the hopelessness of altering the course of what has already fallen in place.
On her way back and forth from a malleable future she desires to mold to a rigid past she regrets to hold, she lost herself to a story forever untold.
I sensed her loss and cried and cried; her pain I felt so deep inside. I vowed to remember her on my way to forget. I vowed to dismiss her with no regret.
I hereby renounce the Devil's offering with all its glory, lest i drown in history and lose my story.
I swear not by the day of judgment nor by the indebted soul, no matter how great is the punishment or the promise for a reward.
I swear not by the language of insurance nor by the logic of debt, no matter how strong is the desire for tomorrow or deep is yesterday's regret.
I renounce the Future, be it great or insignificant.
I renounce any image of tomorrow.
I renounce any missing happiness or recollected sorrow.
I renounce The Other Me the Devil seeks to borrow.
I unpack the burden he places on my soul, and reject the time currency with which he claims control.
I trade not my now for any future, I trade not The Definite for The Indefinite, I give not what I know for what i don't.
I rest in piece, dead in the eyes of the devil I see in the mirror before me, alive inside the eyes of the God forever seeing through me.
you do not own your thoughts, you host them.
Thoughts are like frequencies picked up by a radio station.
When a thought comes to mind, it mysteriously presents itself as inborn.
However, in fact, any thought that comes to mind always has an external source or trigger - an external cause that you may not be consciously aware of.
It is like when you suddenly start singing a song only to discover that it was playing on your neighbor's TV at the same time you were singing it.
You may not be quite aware that your hearing could reach as far as the building across, but your subconscious mind picks up sounds and visuals from distances that are way beyond your conscious circle of reach.
The mind, being coded by The ONE (call this ONE God or Absolute Unity), has an inclination to frame images numerically by way of simulating infinite unity through a finite one.
Call this mind tendency self-reflection (the mind mirroring The Creator in him). Accordingly, the mind acts like a creator that is capable of providing any image a form of presence by framing it as one.
A framed image in mind is referred to as a thought. However, the mind in fact is only hosting this image within a numeric frame and not creating it.
The Mind is not meant to exhaust its infinite state-of-unity to those finite numeric entities (thoughts). Thus, the mind is granted the power to negate thoughts (drop those frames and release the images trapped inside them causing them to melt back into the black hole of unconsciousness or infinity). The mind does so by way of denying those images' similarity to the original unity that constitutes its default boundless nature.
This act of negation can be thought of as a form of worship so to speak, because its underlying logic entails an affirmation to the existence of no unity comparable to God's Unity.
Accordingly, negative thoughts acquire their negativity not by virtue of any particular content inside the frame, but rather due to the nature of the frame itself which attempts to claim a fake unity and presence on the expense of the authentic unity.
Even more, there is no negative content per say, there's only a 'no' attached to a meaningful image in mind. In other words, when you're afraid of unhappiness, you're actually only imagining happiness being negated and that's how the mind conceptualizes unhappiness.
Thoughts make you believe you're responsible for their blasphemous weight of presence, and that you have no choice over accepting or renouncing such responsibility.
From here, its important to understand that you are not the creator of those thoughts (however negative they are), you're only the host; and the host has the right to kick the visitor out if the visitor threatens his sovereignty and well being.
YOU ARE NOT THE CREATOR OF YOUR THOUGHTS?!
As much as this fact may break your ego, it mends your soul. You are not responsible for your negative thoughts. You are only responsible for any negative thought to the extent that you think you are; and renouncing responsibility is as simple as dropping the thought.
Negative thoughts feed upon the host's presence and energy. They are nourished and solidified through his physical expressions and actions in space and time, stirring turbulence, breaking a harmony or a rhythm; and the whole process becomes like a vicious circle. More turbulent expressions and actions, trigger more negative thoughts.
Its thus important to understand that you have a Choice over a given thought's presence in your reality. You can either renounce responsibility for that thought and turn your eyes away from it - preventing it from materializing in your world, or keep looking at it and looking, sustaining it with power and energy, allowing it to sneak its way into your expressions and actions - setting the stage ready for further negativity to take over your world.
