Immortally Mortal

The gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now...

Everyone speaks of eternity and immortality and seem to wanna experience some paradise outside the space-time dimension.
Well, here's a glimpse of what such paradise could feel like:
You wanna stay conscious in paradise right? Otherwise, how would you know you're there.
So, you don't 'melt' in eternity per se, you 'short circuit', your mind gets caught up in ever decreasing cycles of thought, a losing battle between the ego and the truth.
Then when you have accepted defeat you still exist, and yet are nothing. Time seems to stop, in fact it moves really really slow, if there were no time then you would not be able to self re-cognise, be self aware because that relies on time, feed back.
You can't sleep and you can't stop spinning, actually it's a bit like when you first get really drunk. You want to be sick but you don't have a body and you want it to end but there is no next moment, no future so it can never end, and there dies hope, it's damnation, it's crucifixion, it just won't stop.
You spin because there is nothing other than you, no external reference points to stabilise or orientate you. You want to die, but yes there is no next moment, so nothing changes...
Hell! Eternal Hell. How long are you there, for ever, it is all, there is no other than it when you are there.

Conclusion:
Eternal paradise? No thank you.
I choose the HERE & NOW
I choose to tame my EGO but never let go of it.
I choose to be mortal. I choose Death and Rebirth.
There is so much collateral beauty in death - a beauty that gives meaning to every moment lived.
