Is your mirror reflection past to you or future?

It is said that:
The Ancient Devil presented Sophia (the soul) with a mirror and told her that by looking at it, she could see the future. 
Sophia was enamoured by her own reflection. She travelled away from herself towards the reflection not knowing that she was travelling into a dead image (the past); and then she looked back at herself from her reflection's eye (form a non-existent eye); 
In doing so, she lost her way back to The NOW and fell into his-story (The Devil's Story).
